Strata is the scrollytelling report that agencies build for annual reviews, impact reports and long-form features. The step sequence uses timeline-scope: each step of prose names a view timeline and the matching figure binds to that name, so the narrative itself is the clock and adding a step needs no offsets recalculated. Where a browser lacks the properties, one attribute written from an observer drives the identical layers, so the choreography is described once rather than twice. The report also takes its own credibility seriously: the chart and the data table are the same numbers, and the test suite fails the build when they drift apart. Reduced motion is a real document, not a switch. The figure unpins, every layer becomes a block in sequence, the horizontal track wraps into a list, and the charts start finished.
